Cryosphere Models: Ocean and Land in the ENCYCLOPEDIA OF SUSTAINABILITY SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY section on Climate Change Modeling and Methodology

چکیده
The global cryosphere encompasses snow and ice in all its forms in the natural environment, including glaciers and ice sheets, sea ice, lake and river ice, permafrost, seasonal snow, and ice crystals in the atmosphere. Cryospheric models are mathematical and numerical descriptions of these components of the Earth system, designed to simulate snow and ice processes and feedbacks in the context of the global climate system. This entry covers all forms of ice except ice crystals in the atmosphere, which are more appropriately combined with clouds and appear in encyclopedia entry “Cloud Albedo Enhancement for Solar Radiation Management” and “Cloud System Models”. We focus on models that are appropriate for global climate modeling. There are regional climate modeling applications that include some of the cryospheric components discussed here as well. متن کاملCalibration method of numerical models in coastal sediment studies of Kuhmobarak area
Abstract Application of numerical models is useful in coastal sediment studies; however, it is essential to calibrate the models in an appropriate method. Empirical equations, historical satellite imagery and other coastal data and evidence are proposed for the models calibration in the vicinity of coastal indicators around the site of projects. In this study, coastal sediment process of K...

Numerous researchers and practitioners are attracted to sustainability in supply chains (SCS) and it has become one of the favorite topics among academics and industries. The purpose of this paper is to review and analyze the research studies that have been published in the field of sustainable supply chain management (SSCM). A total 242 articles published between 2000 and 2019 reviewed. Conten...
متن کاملSoil Organic Carbon Content and Stocks in Relation to Grazing Management in Semi-Arid Grasslands of Kenya
Rangelands cover approximately 85% of Kenya’s land mass and is a major resource for livestock farming with a considerable potential to mitigate climate change, yet these lands are stressed differently by various management. Our study aimed at determining the influence of grazing management systems (rotational, continuous and ungrazed) on soil organic carbon stocks in Yoani ranch located in the ...
متن کاملInvestigation of wind induced wave climate close to the Koohmobarak Area, Gulf of Oman
Abstract Wind induced wave is of great importance due to its high energy. In this study wave climate in the Gulf of Oman close to the Koohmobarak area is investigated. Wave climate study is necessary for determination of long-term analysis of wave statistics as well as climate change effects in the study area. First, wave climate is study using both measured and simulated wave data close to th...
